NKLVB consists of porcine infectious diseases lab, big animal infectious diseases lab, zoonosis lab, avian infectious diseases lab, animal influenza lab, animal bacterium lab. The  NKLVB possesses a staff of 49, among them, there are 23 senior research fellows, 35 doctors and 20 masters, 15 doctoral supervisors and 35 master supervisors. Now, NKLVB undertakes 59 research subjects of “973 project”, “863 project”, “National key scientific and technological project”, “national natural science fund project” and international cooperation projects, etc. Her main goals are to reveal the molecular biological aspects, pathogenic and immunological mechanisms of animal and poultry infectious diseases at molecular level, and to develop biotechnological and genetic engineering reagents for diagnoses, prevention and therapy. The lab possesses the preventive veterinary medicine Post-Doctorate Scientific Mobile Station, degree program for master’s candidates, degree program for doctoral candidates, and has the capacity of educating more than 200 master’s candidates at the same time. Recent years, she has educated over 200 master’s candidates for other sister Universities and received guest researchers over 300 person-times. Since the establishment of the NKLVB, she has obtained 48 important scientific and technological achievements, including 1 top prize for National Science and Technology Advancement Award, 3 second prizes for National Science and Technology Advancement Award, 15 top prizes for provincial /ministerial science and technology Advancement Award, and so on. She also enjoys 28 patents which have been granted by the national bureau of patent and owns 43 regulations.
