Animal Bacterial Diseases Division

Research Direction:

Our research focus on etiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention and control technology of important bacterial infectious diseases in animals mainly caused by Haemophilus parasuis, Streptococcus suis, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Mycobacterium bovis, Mycobacterium paratuberculosis, Salmonella etc. We also intensively investigate pathogenicity and antimicrobial resistance mechanism of pathogenic bacteria, including identification of novel virulence-related genes, epidemiology and transmission mechanism of resistant bacteria/genes.

Professional Major:

The studies focus on the development of antimicrobial resistance of important animal pathogens, the transmission mechanism of  resistant bacteria/resistance genes, and the research and development of therapeutic drugs. Development of multivalent vaccines  and rapid diagnostic technologies and products for important bacterial diseases. He has published more than 30 SCI papers, including 18 papers published by the first or corresponding author in authoritative SCI journals in this field, such as J Antimicrob Chemother, Antimicrob Agents Chemother, and mSphere, with a cumulative impact factor greater than 70.
